Who We Are

HART (Homeless Assistance Resource Team) is an all volunteer group of congregations, businesses, and individuals who care about those in Rancho Cordova who are currently without a home. We are local all volunteer run 501c3 organization dedicated to assisting the most vulnerable in our neighborhood.

What We Do

Together we aim to be a resource for the homeless and ultimately end homelessness in Rancho Cordova. To achieve this we currently have 3 programs.

Winter Shelter - We are a group of citizens and faith communities in Rancho Cordova who provide overnight shelter and warmth for men & women who are experiencing homelessness in our area during the cold months of winter. We are looking for individuals who have a compassionate heart for others and are willing to donate their time to help organize the shelter. We offer different duties and different amounts of involvement to meet the individual needs of our volunteers. Groups are preferred.

We are also looking for churches or similar facilities to donate space to house a week or longer of the shelter.

Navigator Support - The purpose of the Rancho Cordova Outreach Navigation Services is to provide essential services to homeless individuals in Sacramento County. Navigators strive to engage with individuals who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness, engagement in the community, wherever they are, including places not meant for habitation such as homeless encampments or shelters.

The navigator is staffed by Sacramento Self-Help Housing. She is the navigator focused on serving the unhoused in Rancho Cordova.

Rancho Cordova HART's goal is to support the navigator's efforts. We provide donations, relocation costs, and general assistance costs to help the Navigator best serve those on the street. If you would like to donate to support this work please check out our needs list here or make a financial donation here.

Mobile Shower - Imagine the feeling of taking a hot shower after a long day at work. Fifteen simple minutes of peace, privacy, and relaxation. For most people, that is a daily ritual. For those living on the streets, it is an inconceivable privilege and often a source of trauma and insecurity. Rancho Cordova HART is working with local partners to bring free showers and hygiene supplies to those on the street. Please message us if you would like to know a more, volunteer, or rent the mobile shower for your event.
