Who We Are
The mission of UCP of Sacramento and Northern California is to provide programs and services that improve the independence, productivity, and quality of life for people with developmental disabilities and their families.
What We Do
In 1955, UCP of Sacramento and Northern California started as a group of parents who worked to ensure their children, born with cerebral palsy, had the support and services they needed to live a full life, free from state institutionalization. As a result of their early efforts, and after more than 60 years in Sacramento, UCP programs and services have expanded to serve a wider population including individuals with autism (48% of clients), Down syndrome/epilepsy/other (23%), intellectual disability (20%), and cerebral palsy (9%). UCP provides 14 programs within their four divisions of transportation, adult day programs, family respite care, and recreation/therapy, serving over 3,000 individuals.
