Types of tasks:
- We are inviting volunteers to support Fitrah’s social enterprise operation, which provides job training programs and mentorship to at-risk youth and foster teens – Youth in the program range from age 16-25. Volunteer activities will include sorting and organizing donations so that they can be listed for sale online and support the job training efforts for the youth.
Books:
| Take calls from potential donors and collect books from them or coordinate drop offs. Also coordinate pickups of discarded books |
| Scan and list books on our proprietary software |
| Remove stickers and clean books to be listed |
| Research prices and ISBNs online |
| Pack and label discarded books and prepare for pickup |
| Pack and label books and drop off at post office |
| Research, pack and list comic books |
Clothing, accessories and collectibles:
| Sort incoming donations by season |
| Steam clothing |
| Take measurements of items for descriptions |
| Take photos of items for listing |
| Tag items and place in bags |
| List items on Neatoscan |
| Packing/shipping of sold items |
| Packing and coordinating donations of discarded items |
