Who We Are
Our Story
Fitrah began with a simple question: How do we stop homelessness before it starts? In 2018, our founder met a 60-year-old woman who had spent 19 years living on the streets of Sacramento. That encounter sparked a mission to help young people facing some of life’s toughest challenges before they reach a point of crisis. Today, Fitrah empowers youth experiencing housing instability, involvement with foster care or the juvenile justice system, poverty, and other significant barriers.
Through paid job training, mentorship, and meaningful opportunities, we help young people build confidence, develop skills, and create pathways toward independence. At Fitrah, we believe every young person has potential. Sometimes all it takes is someone willing to invest in it.
We’re not just building programs—we’re building futures.
